How to Promote Your Vibe-Coded App for Free (Lovable, Base44, Bolt and Other AI-Built Apps)
Building the app turned out to be the quick part. Tools like Lovable, Base44 and Bolt let you go from idea to a working app in days. Getting people to find it is the slow part, and it costs nothing but time if you do it well. Here is a plan you can follow without a budget.
Why building fast makes promotion harder
When anyone can ship an app in a weekend, there are many more apps than there is attention. A new app is not rare any more, so it has to be clear, specific and easy to try. The good news is that most of the competition does no promotion at all. A steady, honest effort puts you ahead.
Step 1: Pick one specific person
"Everyone" is not an audience. Pick the one kind of person your app helps most, such as freelance designers who track client invoices, and write a single sentence about what the app does for them. You will use that sentence everywhere: on the page, in posts and in messages.
Test it: could you name three real people who fit it? If not, narrow it down.
Step 2: Make the app easy to understand in ten seconds
Before you promote anything, open your app as a stranger. Is there a clear headline that says what it does and who it is for? A way to try it without a long sign-up? A few screenshots or a short video? Promotion sends people to a page, so fix the page first.
Also set a proper page title, description and share image so links look right when someone posts them. A link that shows a blank preview gets ignored.
Step 3: Tell the story of building it
People like follow-along stories. Post what you built, why, what went wrong and what you learned. Share short clips of the app working. A real story about a real problem gets more attention than an announcement. Say which tools you used. Builders like to see how things are made, and it makes your post easy to find.
Step 4: Share it where your person already hangs out
Find the communities, forums and groups where your audience talks, and join them as a member first. Answer questions. When your app fits a question someone asked, mention it once, say you built it, and read the group rules before you post. Never copy and paste the same message everywhere. Different places want different posts.
Step 5: Get listed where people browse for new things
Directories and boards exist so people can discover new apps. A listing gives your app its own page and a place where people looking for something to try can find it. Free listings are a good starting point and keep working while you do other things. For a guide on picking places, see Places You Can Promote Your App.
Step 6: Ask your first ten users for feedback
Message ten people one at a time and ask them to try the app and tell you what confused them. Fix what they say, and then ask if they would share it. Early users who feel heard will tell others. Our guide to getting your first users has a full plan.
Step 7: Make it easy to share
Add a clear link people can send, a short description they can paste, and a screenshot. If sharing takes more than ten seconds, they will not do it. If you can, add a simple "tell a friend" step after someone gets a result in the app.
Step 8: Track where visits come from
Use tagged links for each place you post, so you can see what brings people who actually use the app. How to Track Campaign Links explains how.
Step 9: Keep a simple routine
Pick two or three places and show up weekly for a month. One good post, five helpful replies, one message to a user. Small, steady effort beats a single big launch day.
Common mistakes
Posting only a link with no context. Promoting before the app is clear. Posting the same message in many places. Ignoring comments. Giving up after one week.
What not to do
Do not buy followers or fake reviews. Do not spam people with messages. Both hurt trust and can get you banned from the places you want to be.
