Places You Can Promote Your App

When you finish building an app, the next question is where to talk about it. Here are the main places, what each is good for and how to use them without annoying anyone. You do not need all of them. Pick three and do them well.
Online communities and forums
These are groups where people ask questions and share what they are working on. They are good for honest feedback and early users. Join before you post, help others, and share your app when it answers a real question. Always check the group rules, since some ban self-promotion or only allow it on certain days.
Launch sites and product boards
Sites where people browse new products give you a page and a place to be discovered. They work for steady, long-term visibility rather than a single spike. Prepare a clear name, a one-line description, a screenshot and a link before you submit.
Directories for your category
If your app serves a specific field, such as education, fitness, finance or design, look for directories and lists for that field. The visitors there are already interested in your topic, so a smaller audience can still be a better one.
Social platforms
Choose one or two where your audience spends time. Short videos of the app working, behind-the-scenes posts and honest lessons from building get shared more than announcements. Use the same handle where you can, so people can find you.
Newsletters and blogs
Writers who cover your topic are always looking for useful things to share. Send a short, personal message with what the app does, who it is for and a link. Do not send the same message to a hundred people. Read what they have written before you pitch.
Communities for builders
Groups of makers like to see new projects and are generous with advice. They are less likely to be your customers, but they can help you improve the app and spread the word. If you built with a tool like Lovable or Base44, its community is a natural place to share how you did it.
App stores, if you have a mobile app
A store listing is a search channel of its own. Write a clear title, a short description with the words people search for, and good screenshots.
Your own network
Friends, family and past coworkers can be your first users and your first reviews. Ask them to try it and tell you what they think, and ask who else they know who has the problem.
Your own website
Do not forget your own page. Give the app a clear address, a headline, screenshots and a way to try it. Everything above sends people here, so it has to be ready. A page that explains the app well also helps in search.
How to choose where to start
Ask three questions. Where does my user already spend time? Where can I be useful without selling? Where does a listing stay visible after a post fades? Start with one place from each answer.
How to avoid being spammy
Tell people you made the app. Be useful before you promote. Do not post the same text in many places. Reply to every comment. If a group says no, respect it.
Track what works
Use tagged links for each place so you can see which brings real users, as explained in How to Track Campaign Links. For a step-by-step plan, read How to Promote Your Vibe-Coded App for Free.
